I like Teeling Irish Whiskey, especially the Small Batch expression; a blended whiskey which, after its time in the cask (once-used Kentucky bourbon barrels), is matured for an additional 6 months in rum casks for added spice. So, it was of great interest to come upon the Teeling kiosk/store at the Dublin airport where they had not only the 3 expressions I am familiar with but also an 11 year old - Liberties - about which I knew nothing.
As I learned, shortly after returning home (with a bottle of the 11 year old), the 11 year old is only available in the Dublin airport - and only after passing through security - and, surprise, it is limited to just 1,000 bottles. And, it is a very very nice Irish Whiskey.
According to those with a well-trained palate, here's what one might expect from Liberties:
Nose: Fruits of the forest, raspberry, roses, tea tree
Taste: Honey, blood oranges, peach, all spice
Finish: Wood, burnt toast, a lingering spice
