Ballyliffen Golf Course ~ an outstanding, true links course amongst the seaside dunes of the northern Ireland coast

ONLY BEEN HOME 4 DAYS AND I AM PACKING YET ANOTHER suitcase for a 4 day trip. No oceans involved in this trip, just a pleasant 90 mile drive through the Adirondacks to Blue Mountain Lake where I will attend a 4 day event at the Adirondack Lake Center for the Arts.

I was invited to apply for admittance to the event–Artist as Entrepreneur Program–and was accepted along with 20 other artists/creatives from around the region. ASIDE don’t know why I was invited or how I was accepted END SIDE Nevertheless, the event–sponsored/conducted by the New York State Council on the Arts and the New York Foundation for the Arts–is an intensive professional development opportunity that serves artists and creatives of all disciplines which delves into the fundamental principles of sustainability in the arts, empowering artists with the tools to imagine and pursue success as they define it.

Here’s hoping the event will be an opportunity to meet some fellow artists/creatives and come away with some useful information. In any event, 4 days in and around beautiful Blue Mt. Lake will be quite swell. I will be able to breakfast each morning at my most favorite diner on the planet and play some golf on a wonderful near by 9-hole gem of a course.

NOW BACK TO OUR REGULAR PROGRAMMING ….

WHILE IN IRELAND I WAS OVERCOME BY A ED RUSCHA moment which caused me to make the 12-photo sequence in this entry of connected homes on Kerrs Bay (street?, road?, lane? or whatever the hell its called in Ireland) across from the Beachcomber pub–for some reason it is always a lovely day for Guinness in Ireland–in Ruthmullan, Ireland. The image presented here is a first draft (so to write) but it does get my point across nevertheless. FYI, It was not my intent in the making of this sequence to created a perfectly blended series of photos–there is some overlap of visual information from picture to picture–but rather to convey a sense of the co-joined architecture to be found in nearly every small town in Ireland.

The total image is set up to be 8 foot long cuz that’s the length of a sheet of foam core I will use in the framed finished piece.
