SPRING HAS SPRUNG (OFFICIALLY), THE GRASS IS GREENING UP, TREES HAVE BUDS, the cat is spending more time outdoors, it looks the the Penguins are going to make the Stanley Cup playoffs and, as mentioned, the ticker is ticking in rhythm.
Photography wise, things are pretty quiet on the blog-o-sphere and consequently I have not been able to find anything worth writing about; which explains the relative radio silence here on this blog. Not that I haven’t attempted to post–over the past couple weeks I have sat down at the computer with the intent to post but each attempt has come up dry. That’s primarily due the fact that I do not want to keep on repeating my long held and oft disseminated thoughts on the medium and its apparatus.
That written, I have given thought to the idea of featuring reviews / recommended readings, re: photo books–primarily monographs–that I consider to be must-haves for the those who are interested in expanding their learnings, re: cognitive engagement, practice, and understanding about the medium and its apparatus–nothing too academic or technique-ish but rather focused on engaging work that spans the diverse practice of many picture makers / genres.
In any event, stay tuned for more frequent entries.
